If the Bosch dishwasher gives an error and the “faucet” indicator lights up, you need to find out the reason for this behavior. Perhaps the self-diagnosis system warns you of problems. Find out why the indicator lights up and what it means.
For what reasons the “crane” on the panel is lit or flashing
In the article “Indicators and Icons of the Dishwasher,” we described in detail their meaning.
- If the “faucet” light on the control panel lights up (next to the water supply button), and the dishwasher is working normally - everything is fine. So, the car began to receive water for washing.
- If you notice that the water supply indicator is on or flashing, while the machine is beeping and water is not being taken into the hopper, there are problems.
The explanation of this problem in the instructions is as follows: there is no water supply. What could be the reason:
- Inlet filter clogged.
- There were problems with the filler valve (broke, clogged).
- Incorrect drain system connection. Self draining occurs.
- The water spray in the chamber is defective.
All of the above signs may indicate the code E15. If the error E15 is lit on the PMM board and a tap is drawn, there may be a problem with Aquastop leakage protection.
In various models of the Bosch dishwasher it can be full and partial.
Due to leakage, water enters the drip tray. With full protection, a float sensor is located there, which triggers. As a result, a fault code is displayed.
When the protection is partial, there is an absorbent sponge in the inlet hose. As soon as a leak occurs, the sponge is saturated with water and blocks access to the system. Read more about Aquastop for a dishwasher in a separate article.
Important! A large amount of foam can cause leakage and tripping of protection. Control the amount of detergent.
How to fix a problem in the Bosch dishwasher
Start by checking “Aquastop” - it happens that the sensor simply sticks in the pan. Inspect the body and hose connections for leaks. If everything is in order, do this:
- Unplug the PMM plug from the outlet.
- Tilt the equipment from side to side so that the float returns to its normal position.
- Drain the water that has fallen into the drip tray.
- Let the car dry.
Also inspect the hose. If you are convinced that the mechanical protection has tripped, the inlet hose must be completely replaced.
Water supply problems
The error sign has disappeared, but does the “faucet” still burn? Then you need to check the filler system.
- Shut off the water supply by turning the inlet valve.
- If you installed a flow filter, remove it and check for clogging.
- Disconnect the inlet hose from the body. Rinse it under running water.
- Take out the filter mesh. Often it becomes clogged with rust and scale. If contamination cannot be removed with plain water, place the filter in a solution of water and citric acid.
The last thing to check is the intake valve. At Bosch dishwashers, it is often located at the bottom of the cabinet.
Loosen the fastening screws and remove the decorative panel from below - there is a valve behind it. Disconnect the wiring chips.
Check the electronic part of the valve with a multimeter. Connect its probes to the contacts of the part, measure the resistance. The working device should show between 500 and 1,500 ohms.
To check the mechanical part, apply an operating voltage (220 V) to the valve and see if the membrane opens or not. In case of any malfunction, the element must be replaced. Loosen the fixing screw, remove the old part and install a new one.
When purchasing a water inlet hose, make sure that the marking matches the old model. Otherwise, you can select the wrong item.
Additionally check the nozzles:
- Open the hopper door.
- Pull out the baskets.
- Remove the upper and lower sprinklers from place.
- Rinse under the tap. Nozzles can be cleaned with a toothpick.
Sometimes the cause of such problems can be a leak sensor. It is possible that it has failed or is transmitting incorrect signals to the module. Then you need to diagnose and, if necessary, replace the sensor.
Self draining
Is the faucet indicator flashing? Then check the connection of the dishwasher to the drain:
- The drain hose should be 45 cm from the floor.
- You need to create the right bend to avoid self-draining into the sewer.
The control board recognizes the problem as insufficient water in the tank. That is, in the allotted time, the machine could not draw a sufficient amount of water.
