We decided to start the wash, but there was a problem - the LG washing machine does not turn on? In such cases, you need to start troubleshooting or call the repair wizard. Do not rush to calculate losses, sometimes the problem is quite trifling.
Why is the washing machine not working?
The most common reason that the washing machine does not start is a power outage. Check, maybe there is no power in the house, and you sin on the technique. If everything is in order with power, then the chain should check the machine. Levers could be disconnected due to overload in the network.
If you have an RCD, then see if the machine worked. This is possible if there is a leakage of current to the chassis, for example if the wiring is damaged. What else causes the problem:
- The outlet is out of order. It’s easy to find out - plug in another device. Does not work? So it's time to call an electrician.
- The power cord is damaged. Inspect the external wire and plug of the washer. Perhaps the cord passed furniture or interrupted the insulation. The plug could melt. Any damage requires immediate replacement of the elements - this concerns the safety of the whole family.
- FSP burned out (interference filter). The filter dampens interference that may interfere with the operation of other appliances when the washing machine is turned on. Most often, the part fails due to power surges.
- The start button does not work. This happens when the contacts of the same interference filter are damaged. Replacement of defective parts is required.
- The control module has broken. This element controls the operation of all mechanisms of the machine. Therefore, in the event of a breakdown, high-quality diagnostics by the master and repair are required.
Another problem happens. When you turn on the network, the Lji machine turns on, but the wash does not start. This is possible with a malfunction of the UBL (door lock). In this case, the part cannot be repaired; installation of a working element is required.
Replacing the interference filter
To assess the condition of the FSP, you must remove the top cover of the machine. Regardless of the model (LG WD or another type), the filter is always located on top of the side or back wall. Do this:
- Unplug the washing machine.
- Remove the two screws from the back and remove the cover from the housing.
- FSP is a small cylindrical object with wires.
- Inspect the part for damage (bloating, burning).
If there are no external signs of damage, then you need to ring the element with a multimeter. To do this, attach the tester probes to the input and then output contacts of the filter. If the voltage is ringing at the input, but not at the output, the FSP is not working.
Select a similar part for replacement. Disconnect the wiring from the old filter, unscrew the mounting bolts. Connect a working FSP and check the operation of the equipment.
Checking the power button and control module
Is everything ok with the filter? Then, without closing the lid, proceed to inspect the Start button. The fact is that electricity first passes through the power cord through the FSF, and then reaches the On / Off button. Consequently, contacts or key wiring could be damaged. Often this occurs both from power surges and from increased humidity in the room where the washer is.
To carry out the diagnostics, dismantle the control panel:
- Pull out the powder tray by pressing the latch in the center.
- Remove the mounting bolts around the perimeter of the panel.
- Wring out latches and remove the block.
You can immediately disable the wiring. Pre-photograph the location of the wires, then to make the correct connection. Now set the multimeter to buzzer mode and ring the button. When in good condition, the tester will begin to squeak, otherwise it will be silent. The key cannot be repaired, only a complete replacement.
If the machine turns on and off, inspect the electronic board. Burned tracks may be visible on the surface. It is worth repairing the module or better replacing it - the master will decide.
The video shows the process of diagnosing the electronic board by the wizard:
Lock Replacement
Does the AGR stop washing? The panel lights are on, so what's the problem? After loading the laundry, press the hatch door tightly. If you did not hear the sound of a set of water, then proceed to check the SLL. Follow the instructions:
- After disconnecting the machine from the mains, close the inlet valve.
- Open the door, bend the seal and remove the metal clamp, prying off with a screwdriver.
- Put the rubber into the drum.
- Remove the two bolts securing the UBL.
- Take out the lock and disconnect the wires.
For diagnostics, attach the multimeter probes to the neutral and phase contacts. The lock is operational if a three-digit number is displayed on the screen. In other cases, the part requires replacement.
Following the recommendations, you can independently diagnose the internal elements of the SMA, detect and fix the breakdown. Problems with the electrics are best left to the master. For the rest, to avoid such problems, use a voltage regulator. The appliance will protect the washing machine from premature damage.
